book shout-out from Julie Zickefoose

A big thanks to Julie Zickefoose for the Falconer on the Edge book shout-out in her latest post about Neil Rettig and Harpy Eagles. If you haven’t checked out Julie’s blog, you should. She writes about everything that strikes her fancy and that covers the gamut from birds to bugs to the critters she sees in her pond. Just the other day I turned on NPR’s All Things Considered and recognized her voice, which made me turn the volume up only to learn that Woody Woodpecker was patterned not after a pileated woodpecker — commonly held belief (that laugh! that look!) — but rather, on an acorn woodpecker. Say it ain’t so, Julie.
